Skilled Heartfelt Midwifery Practice Episode 2

In this podcast, Dr Claire Feeley explores the concept of skilled heartfelt midwifery practice, the subject of her latest book- defined as the integration of a midwife’s attitudes, beliefs and philosophy in support of women’s autonomy, aligned with values of relational care and expert clinical skills. This podcast series follows her recent book with five key episodes attending to each chapter.

In this second episode, an exploration of the first component of skilled heartfelt practice will be shared; - the midwives’ attitudes, beliefs and philosophy which acted as the key impetus to supporting alternative physiological birth choices and more broadly, guided their approach to all caregiving, one that was authentically woman or person-centred.
